The Basement Advisory Centre works with individuals experiencing homelessness, many of whom are also in active and chaotic addiction. We have been awarded Big Lottery Funding to provide a Peer Mentor Programme, specifically designed for people experiencing drug / alcohol dependency.
The Training Co-ordinator will lead the programme, ensure effective delivery of all aspects of education and training, and will liaise with a wide range of organisations to ensure effective pathways for students progressing from the programme. The successful candidate will have experience in facilitating educational workshops, will have an in-depth knowledge of harm reduction, and will have the ability to apply the person centred approach in their role. This role will also involve providing intensive support for vulnerable people with multi complex needs.
The Peer Mentor Support Workers will assist the Training Co-ordinator in ensuring the effective delivery of the programme, with a particular focus on supporting individuals with multi complex needs and from non-traditional education backgrounds to access and engage with this flexible programme. Experience of working with homelessness and addiction would be an advantage.
The Basement is an equal opportunities employer and strongly encourages people who have personally experienced homelessness to apply for these positions.
